It gives us great pleasure to announce that we have been successful in our application for National Lottery Community Fund Awards for All funding in support of our Pop In & Play project in East Kilbride. Some great news in these troubled times!
Our plan is to create a Table Tennis Pop In and Play venue in an empty unit in the East Kilbride Shopping Centre. The venue will be fully equipped with tables, bats & balls and supervised by local volunteers. The funding will be used to help set up the venue as well as supervise and support volunteers for the startup period.
The venue, previously occupied by Trespass, will be accessible by all to literally “pop in and play” as you go about your business in the centre.
For those who want to play more or develop themselves further, there will be signposting to local clubs and facilities and where there is demand, we also aim to provide classes and specific sessions for groups building on our existing support to organisations such as Sporting Memories and Community Sports Clubs initiatives.
We have received interest from a number of volunteers already but we always need more! If you are interested, please email the club or contact Brendan on 07305 891426 for an informal discussion.
We aim to get the venue up and running
With great thanks to our partners @TableTennisScot, @SLLeisCulture & @EKEastKilbride for all their support.
Very special thanks to the @TNLComFundScot for the funding!
