Friday Club
– Delighted to see another full house these last two weeks and to see the young players making progress
– We look forward to the visit of Stephen Gertsen this coming Friday 8th September .
– Stephen will take the session from 630pm – 830pm

WOSTTL
– Looking forward to the new season with our club entering 3 teams in the West of Scotland Table Tennis League.
– We have arranged practice matches over the next two weeks before the season starts on w/c 18th September.
– EKTTC A v EKTTC B this coming Thursday,
– Hamilton Cross B v EKTTC C on Wednesday 13th September
– And finally EKTTC B v Hamilton Cross A on 14th September.

– Very busy club night with a great buzz about the hall.
– Welcome to new members Evy, Daniel, Matthew, Jackson and Noah.
– We look forward to the visit of former Scotland National Coach Stephen Gertsen on Friday 8th September.
– Thanks to Keith, Andrew, Kyle and Tommy Nevin for their support with our younger players.

WOSTTL
– We have submitted 3 teams to the West of Scotland Table Tennis League this season.
– EKTTC A planning to play Div 3 and EKTTC B and C will play in Div 4.
– The season begins w/c 18th September.
– All home matches to be played at Pop in & Play venue.
– Welcome to the former Croft TTC players (Alan Meikle, Pak Lee Hing, Tommy McGrotty, Samuel Agyei-Darko) and Huy T Diep who have joined our squad and will add valuable experience to our group of players.
– Keep you posted.

Pop in & Play
– Thanks to our volunteers and visitors over the school holidays, we had record numbers attend the venue during this period.
– We have been delighted with the response to this new venture and pleased it has been so popular.
– As a result we have met visitors from Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Barbados who popped in because they all love to play the game.
– Delighted to have received donations and great feedback
– Let us know if you would like to become one of our volunteers.

– Good session on Friday night working 1-2-1 with Kerr and Thomas on Butterfly Skills.
– Well done to Kerr completing Bronze Improver stage of Butterfly Skills.

– Very busy week at our new venue.
– The numbers increasing by three and four times the previous week’s figures.
– We have a real mix of families, couples, parent and child all visiting to have some fun which is great.
– WE ARE STILL ON THE LOOKOUT FOR VOLUNTEERS IF YOU’RE AVAILABLE – MON – FRI 11-2pm 😀

Friday Club Night
– Enjoyed the club night on Friday night working 1-2-1 with Kerr, Andrew and Kyle on Butterfly Skills.
– It was good to see the boys making steady progress since they arrived at the club. I’m sure there’s more to come.
– If you voted in our recent club survey for the club night to stay ON during the summer then you have your wish. All the members who responded voted YES, which means the club stays on over the summer months.
– Many thanks to Bill for making up 3 bats over the past few weeks for our club members.

Pop In & Play
– With the school summer holidays starting this week we would expect the venue to be busier as a result.
– We could also see an upturn in club members linked to the increase in demand at Pop in & Play going forward.
– In recent weeks we have had a number of visitors travelling a distance to visit the venue which is great to see.
– We thank one of our regular visitors for a very generous donation this week.

We hit a landmark milestone today!

We had our 1,000th visitor to Pop In & Play Table Tennis in East Kilbride since we opened in late March 2023.

Robert and Michelle came in today and played along with their wee grand-daughter and were presented with a pack of training balls in recognition of this fantastic milestone 🏓❤️😀

Their sons were avid table tennis players in their youth and like many other visitors, they loved the experience and are committed to a return visit!

Friday Club Night
– What a great start to our return to AMC with busy club nights the past two weeks!
– A big thanks to Jim, Alison and all the staff at the complex who have made us feel very welcome.
– The feedback from club members to us returning to AMC has been very positive.
– From seniors to juniors, we are encouraged to see everyone enjoying their table tennis.

– Our latest volunteer Joseph is from Iraq and enjoys coming most days having had no previous experience of TT but is learning the game every day.

Hi everyone

🏓Friday Club Night 🏓
– Just a reminder that on Friday night our club night will be at Alistair McCoist Complex from 6pm – 9pm. The second large hall on entrance to complex.
– We realise not everyone will plan to be there for the full 3 hours.
– We are happy to put a structure in place that might suit the majority but at the same time being flexible to accommodate others e.g. we may try Juniors 6pm – 730pm Seniors 730pm – 9pm., however we will let things settle over the next few weeks and get your feedback on what works for you before we make any final decisions.
– On the first night it may take us a bit of time to get tables set up and cleaned before we start the session.
– Looking forward to it.

– A very busy session on Friday night.
– The seniors worked on forehand and backhand blocking drills.
– Debra and Lynn continued their work on Butterfly Skills.
– The juniors had a mix of singles, doubles and team games.
– Welcome to young Toby and welcome back to Ryan Gormley.
– Delighted to see no use of mobile phones during our session, hopefully we can continue to repeat this going forward. Thanks for your cooperation.

WOS Senior League
– Thanks to everyone who put their names forward for our WOS Senior League squad.
– I have notified WOS League of our interest in entering two teams.
– The league takes place between September and March next year and we hope to update you in August with further information.
– Plan is to have training sessions before the league starts.
– We will keep you posted on future developments.

Pop In & Play
– A quieter week in terms of numbers attending but still delighted with the response we’ve had since we opened four weeks ago.
– Great to see familiar faces coming back on a regular basis.
– Some people pop in at lunchtime and now make it part of their routine.
– Looking for more volunteers to help us develop the venue going forward.
– Many thanks to those who have already joined us: John, Jim and Lynn.🙌

– Very encouraging to see the number of groups coming through the door.
– We need volunteers to help us continue to meet the demands of the unit.
– If you would be willing to volunteer at POP in & Play for just one day (3hrs) that would make a difference.

– Under 18’s must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. 4 x tables. Bats and balls provided.

Hi Everyone,

Pop In & Play
– Please note Pop In & Play will be closed this coming Friday 7th April.
– Delighted with the response to those coming along to try table tennis.
– Despite the maintenance issues we have going on directly outside the unit, people have made their way into have a go.
– The feedback has been very positive and we have been really encouraged by people looking forward to returning soon.
– Opening Hours are Mon – Fri 11-2pm at EK Centre West (next to Deichmann shop on 1st floor)
– Under 18’s must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
– 😀 4 x tables.
– Bats and balls provided.
