EK Shield 2018 – what a final!

We had a great day yesterday at our club championships – the EK Shield.

Well done to all the players who participated and the effort and focus from everyone was amazing. The spirit amongst the whole group was terrific and bodes well for the rest of the season.

Full results are below:

Doubles Winners:                       Bobby Gray & Jack Brown
Doubles Runners Up:                 Thomas Gray & Ross Nicol

Under 11 Singles Winner:          Diarmid McCreadie
Under 11 Singles Runner Up:    Thomas Gray

Under 13 Singles Winner:          Bobby Gray
Under 13 Singles Runner Up:    Ross Nicol

Under 18 Singles Winner:          Achint Makesh
Under 18 Singles Runner Up:    Luke Jackson

The Under 18 Singles Final was an absolute cracker going to the wire in the 5th game. Achint and Luke put on a great performance and the match to-ed and fro-ed between them throughout and drew great appreciation from the onlooking crowd.

During the prize giving, Head Coach Peter Connolly commented “An excellent final with both boys showing a great example to every player at the club in terms of their attitude, focus and quality of play“.

A big thanks also to all our volunteers and the parents/family members who supported the players throughout the day.

Looking forward to next year’s event already!
