An opening night visitor!

We were delighted to welcome Linda Fabiani MSP to the club tonight – our first night back after the summer break.

Linda, a player in her youth, stayed with us for our first hour and we even got her playing for a bit…a wicked backhand I must say!

Linda was delighted to hear about our plans for the club and meet some of the team and club members.

Linda – you are welcome back any time!

Club SL Accreditation

We are delighted to announce today that East Kilbride Table Tennis Club has been re-accredited to Bronze level as part of South Lanarkshire Leisure’s club accreditation scheme – Club SL.

The South Lanarkshire Leisure Club SL scheme was developed in consultation with Active Schools Coordinators, Sports Development Officers, Facility Managers, other local authorities, and importantly a wide range of local sports clubs throughout South Lanarkshire.

There are two levels of accreditation a club can be awarded, Bronze and Gold, each with its own range of benefits.

The key aims of the scheme are to help local clubs develop and support:

  • Good governance
  • Qualified coaches
  • Volunteers
  • Club structures
  • Planning
  • Growth
  • Clubs that are inclusive

South Lanarkshire Leisure are a key partner of East Kilbride Table Tennis Club and our development ambitions to increase table tennis participation across South Lanarkshire.

**UPDATED** North Ayrshire Open

It’s the North Ayrshire Open!
Click the link for the North Ayrshire Open 2018 – Entry Form – the closing date for applications is 24th August 2018.
This is an event that takes place on 1st/2nd September 2018 at St Matthew’s Academy, Saltcoats. Modest entry fees, great experience and fabulous prizes on offer!
The organisers are encouraging all senior regional league players regardless of age and ability to play and they have selected bands so players can compete at their level.

They are also encouraging juniors to play on the Saturday, where they can play the banded events and open doubles. Doubles will be played in groups so guaranteed more matches in that too.

In North Ayrshire, they have a lot of our junior league players who don’t usually compete in national competitions so it would be great to see more from other regions there too.

If anyone from the club needs more info or info on accommodation, just phone or text Chris Main on 07590 470426.
