Stephen Gertsen National Coach

  • Another terrific training night delivered by Stephen on serves and return of serves.
  • Although some of the players found the tasks very challenging I think the players did very well.
  • Hopefully coaches learned from Stephen the detail required to organise a quality session.

UKCC Level 1 course

  • Delighted that we had 7 coaches attending the first part of UKCC level 1 course yesterday on Saturday 3rd November 2018.
  • Well done to all.

Hi Everyone

  • A return visit by Stephen Gertsen.

UKCC Level 1 course

  • Seven coaching assistants will start their UKCC Level 1 coaching course at the Alistair McCoist Complex on Saturday.
  • Good to see this opportunity being made available and looking forward to all being a key part of our club’s future .
  • Good Luck.

North Ayrshire Challenge Match – Saltcoats

  • Delighted with our visit to North Ayrshire.
  • We had an hour of training and then the challenge match.
  • Pleased with players who worked had throughout to record a win although some matches were very tight.
  • We have still a lot of work to do before junior league but we needed matches to make any progress.
  • Many thanks to our small band of supporters.

North Ayrshire  Challenge Match

  • Saturday 27th October 2018 at St.Matthews Academy Saltcoats at 11am
  • Delighted with squad for North Ayrshire which is as follows :-

  • Thomas and Cameron.
  • I will confirm times with NA this week but plan to be at St.Matthew’s for 11-2/3pm.

  • Player’s to bring plenty to drink and eat.I know of one player who needs a lift if any others need a lift let me know a.s.a.p.

Hi Everyone

Peoples Project 2019

  • Big news this week is that we have passed the first stage in the Peoples Project 2019.
  • However still a bit of work to be done.

Welcome

  • To Lauren Sweeney and Gregor Stewart who visited the club for first time on Friday night and were given a warm welcome by all.  

Friday club night

  • Good session from Chris and Robbie Maitland on pushes and drives. Well done to all players in the newly refurbished Hall 3 at JWSC.
  • This coming Friday – Brendan will organise another league ladder. Bring it on !!!
  • Delighted to see Andrew Irwin and Jack Regan who returned to club on Friday night.
  • Andrew for a visit and Jack making a return to assist the club with coaching.

Challenge Matches 

  • Delighted to announce two forthcoming challenge matches.
  • North Ayrshire 
    • Saturday 27th October 2018 in St.Matthews Academy, Saltcoats at 11am
    • Looking for players to compete in this match at all levels so please let me know if you are available to attend. Timing is from 11am to 2pm/3pm.

Club News – 7th October 2018

Welcome

  • A warm welcome to Lauren Sweeney and Gregor Stewart who have become new members at our club and soon to be part of our growing coaching team.

Friday club night

  • Good session from Euan on serves.
  • Players need to look to improve this area of their game and listen to advice provided by Euan.
  • This coming Friday – Robbie and Chris set out to improve F/H and B/H drives and pushes.
  • This session will be in a newly refurbished JWSC Hall 3 from 700pm -promise this time🙂

Tuesday Club Night

  • Delighted that Erin Shepherd joined our session to focus on coaching, hopefully we will have Erin’s support over coming weeks.
  • Also a thanks to Conor Flanagan who was presented with a club award to recognise his contribution to the club over the past two seasons.  
  • Please see email below received from Alistair McCoist Complex this week:

“We have had several complaints at the Alistair McCoist Complex regarding people parking in the disabled bays without displaying a blue badge.
We will have a member of staff patrolling the car park for the next few weeks but are looking for your assistance in reminding your teams/parents that these spaces should only be used by blue badge holders.
We have several groups that use the centre and rely on the additional space bays to get out of their cars.”

  • Our club coaches have been inspired by someone who gave up their time to coach them in a sport.

People’s Project 2019
